K-6 Grade Sunday School:
Sunday mornings are filled with lively activities and discussions that provide a foundation for Jewish living, Jewish learning, and Jewish identity. Specials in music, library time, cooking, and Modern Israeli Hebrew (NEW!), supplement classroom lessons.
Sundays, 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM
On the first teaching Sunday of the month, families are invited to join their students for an energizing prayer service. Each Family Aseyfah will also include a presentation by one of our grades or by special guests.
First Teaching Sunday of the Month, 9:30 AM – 10:00 AM
3rd-6th Grade Hebrew School:
The sound of Hebrew reading and chanting fills our classrooms on Wednesday afternoons, as our students learn the skills to read prayerbook and Torah Hebrew. In addition to practicing how to recite prayers, students learn key words and phrases and what the prayers mean. The skills students learn in Hebrew School will help them participate in Jewish worship for Bar/Bat Mitzvah and wherever they go for the rest of their lives
Wednesdays, 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM or 4:45 PM – 6:15 PM
PACT (Parents And Children Together):
When parents and children learn together, each becomes the student of the other and both are enriched. Each grade has two PACT programs; one takes place at Temple Sinai and is based on that grade’s curriculum, and the other will be held at a local organization that works to make the Pittsburgh community a better place. Each grade will explore a different organization and learn what they can do to address various social justice issues in our community.
