Just Congregations
On Sunday, April 3, 2011, about 180 people gathered in Temple Sinai’s sanctuary to listen to presentations on seven important topics concerning our community: Pittsburgh Government, Public Transportation, Senior Care, Education, Racial Profiling, Segregation and Marcellus Shale.
Each person voted for the one issue most important to him/her. Two were chosen as our primary focus areas: Marcellus Share and Senior Care at the Charles Morris Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Task forces were formed for these two.
Two additional topics also received a substantial number of votes: Education and Public Transportation. People interested in these have been encouraged to work with the Pittsburgh Interfaith Impact Network’s (PIIN) existing task forces.
You are strongly encouraged to get involved in one of these important and exciting efforts. If any of these topics interest you, please contact Florence Chapman (fpchapman@gmail.com) or the Temple Sinai office at 412.422.9715.
